vodka-drinking habits and traditions in Russia
1. No need for many appetizers to accompany wine in China, but Russians prefer simplicity.
Russian people love drinking vodka, beer, and homemade drinks like kvass (a type of fermented beverage). They enjoy their beverages without the need for numerous accompaniments. A slice of bread, a piece of cheese or pickles will do just fine. This might be due to their habit of drinking anywhere at any time.
2. Drinking culture emphasizes freedom and spontaneity.
Russians cherish their independence and don't like being restricted by time or space when it comes to drinking. They tend not to drink slowly; instead, they often finish a bottle within one day. The most popular way to drink vodka is "ice-cold," where the vodka is chilled until it forms a thin layer of frost on the outside of the glass before consumption.
3. Russian etiquette places great importance on toast-making rituals.
In Russia's traditional dining etiquette, there are specific rules regarding who should make the first toast during meals or gatherings. It's considered impolite if someone else starts making toasts without permission from the host or main organizer.
The tradition also extends beyond official events: Russians celebrate various holidays with serious intentions about drinking alcohol as part of their festive celebrations which lead up eventually leading them into drunkenness without any shame attached thereto but this aspect isn't taken lightly either because they believe that excessive intoxication displays poor behavior towards others involved so overall these customs reflect both aspects - cultural heritage & personal traits alike!
